 BLOOMBERG Arts Internship

BAI provides a paid opportunity to try out careers in arts and cultural organizations in New York City; hone your workplace, communication, and public speaking skills; and sharpen your writing, through a program led by Columbia University’s Teachers College that includes guidance for completing your college essay.

This paid, full-time internship at NYC arts and cultural organizations includes:

  • Work experience three days per week at one of over 60 non-profit partners of Studio in a School. These organizations contribute greatly to the vibrancy of New York City’s arts and cultural communities.

  • Weekly classroom workshops focused on improving workplace and college readiness skills and starting the college application process

  • Weekly visits with cultural institutions and partner organizations, which include special tours and career panels with working arts professionals.

  • Bloomberg Arts Interns will be paid $29.45/hour for 33 hours per week over 8 weeks 

To be selected, you must be: 

  • A high school junior during the 2025–26 school year 

  • 16 years of age or older by the end of the 2025–26 school year

  • Available between 6/29/2026  –8/21/2026 for the entire internship program. The first day of mandatory orientation will begin on Monday, June 29 and continue through Thursday, July 2. There will be no program on Friday, July 3 in observance of the federal holiday that falls on Saturday, July 4..

  • Ready to develop college applications and learn about financing your college education

  • Committed to intern at an arts and cultural organization to develop workplace skills

  • Eager to be immersed in New York City’s exciting arts and cultural scene.

Brooklyn Navy Yard Internship Programs

BNYDC’s Internship Programs connect college-attending students and college-bound high school seniors to a wide range of paid internship opportunities with businesses within the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Over the course of 8-week sessions in the spring, summer, and fall, students will be connected to Yard-based businesses and departments according to their future career interests, skill sets, and educational background.

Van Cortlandt Park Alliance   

Van Cortlandt Park Alliance is hiring for the upcoming season!

Seasonal: Ecological and Trail Stewardship Technicians (4) to assist with trail maintenance and ecological restoration efforts within the natural areas of Van Cortlandt Park in the Northwest Bronx from early May to early November 2026.

Summer: Crew Leaders (4): to assist with our Urban Ecology Teen (UET) and Garden 2 Market (G2M) summer internships for high school students.

High School Internships: Applications are open for VCPA’s three paid internship programs for High School Students: Green Scholars, Garden 2 Market, and Urban Ecology Teens.

2026 Hearst High School Media Internship

The Hearst High School Media Internship at The Paley Center for Media is a 5-week, paid, best-in-class media-focused summer internship for rising 11th and 12th grade students. The program will encompass Media Literacy and Digital Learning, Media Career Development, and Mentorship. The internship offers students the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and network necessary to prepare for college and to break into the media and entertainment industry.

BioBus Junior Scientist

BioBus, Inc. is seeking high school students with a passion for science exploration, and an interest in gaining research and teaching experience. Interns will receive training and mentorship by research scientists, while developing their own independent projects using research-grade microscopes. They will also gain teaching and leadership experience by serving as co-instructors in our science events and programs. Interns will be paid by the hour ($17/hr). The deadline to submit the application is 11:59pm March 15th, 2026 .

  • Must be in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade during 2025-26 (current) school year 

  • Must identify as a woman, non-binary or gender non-conforming person

  • Must live AND/OR attend school in Harlem, Washington Heights & Inwood.

  • Must be available 1 day/week 4:00pm - 6:30pm from Sept 2026 - June 2027

Harlem Science Internship

  • Must be in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade during 2025-26 (current) school year

  • Must be available to attend internship at the following times:

    • Summer: For 6 weeks: July - August, 2026 from Monday - Friday, 10 am - 5pm and          Term time: Sept 2026 - June 2027 from 1 day/week from 4:00 - 6:30 pm
